Makiko Kondo (Vice Representative Director) took the stage at CONFINTEA 7 Subcommittee
On the morning of the third day of this meeting, Makiko Kondo, Deputy Representative Director of DEAR, gave a subcommittee "Adult Learning Education for Inclusion, Participation, and Sustainability (Adult Learning Education for Inclusion, Participation, and Sustainability)" sponsored by ASPBAE (Asia-South Pacific Basic Adult Education Council). "Transformative adult learning and education (ALE) for inclusion, participation, and susutainability" was presented with CLADE, a federation that promotes adult education in Latin America, and ACEA, a federation that promotes adult education in the Arab region.
Deputy Representative Kondo spoke to the following two questions. (1) Proposals to the government regarding inclusion and participation -Working with two government departments-Proposals for government participation in CONFINTEA VII-Speaking at national meetings-Participation of civil society in the Japanese government framework (2) Proposals for ALE finances ( Especially in relation to ODA)・ For domestic education budget (4-6% of GDP, 15-20% of total public education budget, at least 4%) for adult education ・ About the specialty of social educators・ Raise awareness and provide financial support ・ Necessity of increasing ODA budget Other speakers also reported on the answers to each question and good practices.
