" Adult Learning Will Change the World "

Adult learning and education (ALE) opportunities are undervalued in today's society, even though most of a person's life is spent in "adulthood." In addition, the learning of adults who are responsible for today's society is indispensable for the transformation to a sustainable future. Would you like to think about how to proceed with adult learning together with international trends?

  • Target audience: Practitioners/researchers of adult learning/education and social education, leaders of youth/youth organizations, NGO/NPO personnel, and those interested in the topic

Background and purpose

The 7th Conference of the International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VII) , which has been held under the initiative of UNESCO since 1947, was held in Marrakech, Morocco in June 2022. "Adult Learning Will Change the World" was the key message of the conference, which adopted the Marrakech Framework for Action as its outcome document. The framework for action reflects the opinions of the Japanese government and civil society, and is highly significant as it was unanimously adopted by 142 UNESCO member countries. becomes.

Therefore, in this follow-up meeting, we will report on the conference outline of CONFINTEA VII and the Marrakech Framework for Action.
